Moss Street Market
Fairfield's Saturday market is into its last month outdoors. Local farmers, bakers, makers, and buskers spread across the Sir James Douglas grounds at Moss and Fairfield. Bring a tote and an empty stomach.
Every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October, the school grounds at Moss and Fairfield fill with Island farmers, bakers, makers, and buskers, spilling over toward Porter Park. October is squash and apple weather: the summer fruit is finished and the tables go over to storage crops, cider, and the baking you want when it is raining.
The outdoor season runs to the end of October. From November the market moves into the school gym and the Garry Oak Room, Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and runs there through April, so it never actually stops.
