Grow Your Own Groceries
A free Thursday-evening workshop in Langford on growing the food you would otherwise buy. Two hours at Gordon United Church with Kayla Siefried of the Compost Education Centre. Space is limited and you need to register first.
Thursday, October 15, 7 to 9 p.m. at Gordon United Church on Goldstream Avenue. Kayla Siefried from the Compost Education Centre runs this one, and the premise is plain enough: which of the things in your grocery basket could be coming out of your own yard instead.
It is free but pre-registration is required and space is limited, so sign up through ReImagine West Shore rather than turning up at the door. It is the middle of a fall run of these workshops, with the year-round veggie garden session following on November 7.
